Aren’t we all cute? 3-4-5… Haha.
We brought 10 cans of food and also gave race fees.
This particular 5k was coordinated by a Brevard College class as a project to benefit the Sharing House here in Transylvania County.
Fee: $10 or bring 10 cans of food
Course: three loops around Brevard College campus. Beautiful area!
Volunteers: college students. All so friendly! Impressed with our upcoming generation.
Food: organic bananas, apples, pie—yes pie!, water
Swag: pie, braclet, race sheet handout
The start was a small gathering but such a spirit warming experience, knowing you’re running for the right reasons and for a GREAT cause! Many are not so fortunate to have big Thanksgiving dinners and this is small way to give back to those who are truly in need. Running isn’t always about being fast and grabbing a PR. Sometimes it’s about giving back, supporting the community, and enjoying family and friends.
I was excited to see another SMART Girl and coach there too! Woot woot! My hubs, dog, kid, and I all stayed together as a family and didn’t leave little D behind.
Finishing time: 30:47
Go little D and Jazzy pooch!
I really hope they keep this an annual event! It had a small turn out but I would love to see this turn into something bigger in the future. The Sharing House needs us.
Any other Turkey Trotters out there? Do you volunteer or support local sharing houses?
Blessed and Beautiful Running.
